Name:
Pyon Silver
From: Brigadoon, Marin to Melan
Appearance:

Pyon Silver

Like every GunSwordman, Pyon got a sword instead of a right arm, and a plasma Gatling (No, I am not even joking) instead of a left one. Knights are also covered by plates of armor: Pyon’s is very pointy, and make him look vaguely like a crane origami. (Still not joking.) His colors are black and silvery white. His eyes are golden and have white pupils.

The First Origami Monomakia, Pyon Silver!

Pyon always favors his sword when he fights: out of the three GunSwordmen’s sword, his is the only one to have a name. It’s called “Excalibur”, and the Silver Knight even claimed that it was sacred, though there is no actual proof of that. His plasma Gatling is used less often, but the results are always devastating.

Pyon’s pointy wings can deploy at will: since neither Melan nor Eryun can fly if they are damaged, it’s safe to believe that he can’t either.

Since he got no hand, Pyon handles any fine manipulations with small tentacles with paw-like extremities. He got four of them, two on each side of her waist. Since Melan is skilled enough to use chopsticks with them, you can deduce than Pyon can do the same. Plus, they can emit some sort of energy and heal wounds, on his own body or on someone else’s.

When he enters a fight, Pyon activates his facemask, which covers all his face except his left eye: a horizontal green lens protects his right one, and can be used to scan biological signatures nearby. It’s said that GunSwordmen can breathe underwater as long as they got their masks on.

All Monomakias have an Ampoule form: they become a small object, rarely longer than 10 cm, and use this form to heal or to wait: they need no energy as long as they are under this appearance. You can make them go out by throwing the Ampoule and breaking it, Pokemon style. They enter this form either at will, or in the case of Pyon, by pressing the green diamond between his wings. His own ampoule is never shown, but you can safely believe it look a little like Melan’s or Eryun’s.

Even out of their Ampoule, GunSwordmen heal very, VERY fast. Pyon is back from is near fatal wound after a few hours. But very serious wounds, broken armor, stabbing wounds, lost weapons, everything… disappear in a matter of days if he can eat enough.

Speaking of food, GunSwordmen uses rice as fuel, and eat TONS of it. Fifty bowls in a meal!

And now the headcanon:

In the manga and the anime, alcohol or rather ethanol seems somewhat toxic for Monomakias: it kills one in the anime, and makes the armor of another melt in the manga. It’s never used against a GunSwordman, but you can think it will be effective against them as well. So alcohol is like acid for Pyon, and he gets severe burns when it touches his skin or armor.

Pyon got no hormone to speak of: monomakias don't have the will (or the organs) to reproduce. Flirting will meet a wall of incomprehension, and get you a somewhat bewildered Silver Knight..

Age: Technically, 17 years old.
Gender: Monomakia are more or less genderless, but Pyon looks and sounds male.
Personality: The word “pride” defines who Pyon is: Pride to have survived the terrible training in his childhood, pride to be a defender of Brigadoon, simply put, pride to be a GunSwordman. Like his two siblings, at the beginning of the anime, he shows little to no emotion, talking rather mechanically, keeping a neutral face even when he tries to kill the one he loves like a brother.

However, it’s not this simple. GunSwordmen are not insensible, they just learned to ignore their feelings in order to survive. Eryun is the closest of an emotional amongst them, even though the only emotions she demonstrates at first are anger and hate. Melan shows care and love while Pyon… Pyon shows none of those, simply because he doesn’t know how to deal with them. He thinks of feelings as weakness, but it doesn’t prevent him to actually feel, and just turns him into a little ball of repressed emotions that just want to be let out. He is the first GunSwordman you see crying, as Eryun almost kill their brother, but he refuses to recognize his sadness.

He also doesn’t know what “fun” is, and surely never experienced it. Also, his sense of humor is below absolute zero.

Pyon has been the strongest of the three GunSwordmen for a long time, and has no doubt about his abilities, or the fact he is one of the most powerful Monomakias on Brigadoon. It’s easy to trick him into believing you are weaker than him, before surprising him and overpowering him. Careful, though: it will work only once!

The Silver Knight also possesses a strong sense of honor, even though it is a little warped: he will never attack someone who didn’t attack him first, except if they stand between him and his duty. However, the single fact of shooting in his direction is interpreted as an invitation for a duel, even when your only weapon is a little gun that had zero effect on him.

Deep inside, Pyon is a naïve, clueless teenager. He has untapped reserves of affection he doesn’t know what to do with. He gets easily flustered, and humor puzzles him to no end.

My headcanon is that he loves being touched (hugs, etc…) but just doesn’t know how to react when someone actually do it. His training didn’t include any people skills, unfortunately. Should he answer in kind? Go away? Attack? Do something, anything?!

Backstory: Pyon comes from Brigadoon, a strange world ruled by cat-like people. His world is usually pretty peaceful, and to accomplish tasks or maybe defend themselves if needed, the Brigadoonians create Monomakias, strange creatures born from Biological Data.

Unfortunately, every year, Brigadoon brushes against another world, the "funny world" as the Brigadoonians call it, and the two worlds would crash into one another without a special ritual to keep them apart for one more year: The Day Of Pasca. The Ritual needs four different Monomakias: three GunSwordmen and the Creis Marine. If the Creis is unique, it's not the case of the GunSwordmen: they are mass produced and submitted to a long and harsh training, leading to death for most of them. The three survivors of this training were Melan Blue, Eryun Garnet and Pyon Silver.

The three of them became the servant of the Central Assembly, accomplishing missions for the Chairmen, and preparing for the day of Pasca. Working together allowed the three Knights to create a strong bond between them, to the point it was told that nothing was impossible as long as they were together.

Everything seemed to be fine on Brigadoon: when the Day arrived, the three GunSwordmen and the Creis accomplished their duty and saved their world. No problem whatsoever happened during the Ritual itself, and nobody noticed anything suspicious.

However, Melan Blue kidnapped the Creis and used one of the last passages between the two worlds to get to the Funny World and disappear. One of the Chairmen, Wawa, was also missing, believed to be dead. Everything pointed toward Melan, making him a Renegade, a person wishing for the worlds to be destroyed. Unfortunately, going after him was impossible: the worlds were now separated, and the passages were closed. They needed to wait one year, go after Melan, punish him and take him and the Creis back.

Pyon took Melan’s treason pretty hard, though less so than Eryun, who became a big ball of pink fury: the blue Knight dishonored the title of GunSwordman, and broke the bond that was so precious to them. Pyon and Eryun waited one year, seething in rage, until the two Worlds came close again. Pyon managed to get to the Funny World and there killed a few humans that had “defied” him, before finding Melan. The two fought, and Pyon almost won but they were interrupted by the Creis and another human, soon joined by a lot of policemen. The Silver Knight didn’t like the interruption, and promised to come back later to finish what he had started, where nobody could bother them. Pyon found shelter in a empty construction site where he healed the few wounds he had received during the fight, and used a sign to write a message to his brother, stating where the final duel would take place.

The two fought, pretty hard, and Pyon had the upper hand for most of it: he was, after all, the strongest of the GunSwordmen. However, Melan managed to snatch the victory right out of his paws; the Blue Knight critically wounded his fellow Monomakia, and Pyon was sent back to Brigadoon. Here he was healed, and given the task to train the replacement of Melan: Kuston Brown.

But before he could begin his new duty, Melan himself came back to Brigadoon with the Creis: the blue Knight visibly wanted to carry out the Ritual of Pasca by himself. Pyon intercepted his brother above Creis City, and the two fought again as the little Creis ran away. Melan managed to loose Pyon a few minutes, just enough to join the Creis in the heart of the city, where he was violently attacked by Eryun Garnet. She almost killed Melan, and the Silver Knight did his best to stop her, since he wanted Melan to face a fair trial before his execution. Eryun ignored him, and only a reaction to an anomaly from the city itself allowed Melan and the Creis to run away.

Unable to follow the "traitor" (even though Pyon wasn't absolutely sure that Melan was a traitor anymore: the Silver GunSwordman began to hate his troubled heart, as he couldn't take a decision on whether or not he wanted to join his brother.), Pyon went back to training Kuston.

But said Kuston began to attack everyone on sight, destroying a power plant on Brigadoon, and the proud Knight tried to stop him, only to have his sword destroyed and get almost killed.

The Brown GunSwordman then left for the Funny World and Pyon barely managed to get on his feet to follow him. That's his pull point!

Moral Standing: Pyon is technically a good guy, but his methods are sometimes questionable. Loyal good/neutral, then. With the potential to become really, REALLY good if someone takes a little time to teach him things like compassion and respect.
Dreams: Keeping Brigadoon safe is the only thing he ever thinks about, mostly because nobody told him that he could do something else with his life. Keeping his siblings safe comes in close second, and now atone for his crimes toward Melan has joined the pile as well.
Fears: Failing his/her duty is the worst fear of any GunSwordman, but getting brainwashed -again- and send to fight and maybe kill Melan -again- are his greatest fear.

Extra: Frenchy French is French, so sorry for my inevitable spelling and grammar mistakes!

Samples: All the anime episodes are here! Have fun and prepare yourself for a kick in the feels. Pyon first appearance is in Episode 6. Well, you see two seconds of him in the beginning of the first episode as well.

Writing Sample:

You couldn't say that Pyon liked a lot of things. No, to be fair, he didn't know a lot of things to begin with. The ruthless training he had been submitted to when he was young had not left him time for sight-seeing or philosophical discussions: all he knew was duty, and pain. Friendship too, but only because his siblings had managed to survive and stay with him.

But he was still kind of new to the world, and that's why the sight before him left him somewhat... bewildered.

"What are they doing?" The Silver Knight asked his Blue Sibling, Melan, the one that has spent the most time with humans.

"I think they are mating." Was the answer and Pyon stared, somewhat fascinated.

Was it possible to touch someone like that? The human that was laying down on the mattress shouldn't be rebelling against those touches? And if they were mating, why were they both female? Reproduction needed a male and a female, no?

Perched atop of a nearby building, with a very clear view on the little room below them, the two Knights continued to study the strange behavior. The laying human was even making some sort of sounds, like sighs and little moans.

"Humans are weird creatures." Was all Pyon Silver found to say, completly out of his depth. How could Melan like those things? He couldn't understand.

(And below them, the masseuse dutifully carried on, her customer sighing in delight as the skilled hands slowly made her body relax.)

First person:

[The screen turns on to reveal Pyon looking somewhat worried. It's rare for the Knight to make posts, but seing him like that, eyes narrowed in worry, is even rarer.]

I found someone by the Ink Well.

[The monomakia was usually very neutral, never showing any emotion. But right now, he seems troubled, and a little (very little!) sad.]

She is... human, I guess? I think someone attacked her with a sword. I... tried to help her. I swear. I really did. But  the wound won't close and I think she is... dying. [Then his voice breaks. Damn.] I need help. Well, she does. I will be by the fountain.

Please, hurry. I don't want her to die. She...

She looks exactly like my sister...
